Success Principles Series: Limiting Beliefs

Dave takes a minute to dive into the key success principle of breaking through your limiting beliefs. He uses the example of elephant training to illustrate the ingrained blindness of limiting beliefs, and the ease of breaking through these beliefs when we have the drive to do so. Lawline Runs the JP Morgan Corporate Challenge!

On June 16th, 2011 Lawline participated in the 35th annual JP Morgan Corporate Challenge along with 940 other companies in the NYC area. It was a great opportunity to bond together as a team and accomplish a goal of finishing the 3.5 mile race and raising funds for the Central Park Conservancy, which restores, manages and enhances the park.

Lawline gears up for the 3.5 JP Morgan Corporate Challenge on June 16th!

The Lawline Team (well, some of the Lawline Team) trained for weeks prior to the event in preparation for race. The top finishers were Micah and Jeff, who came in with impressive times under 27 minutes. Micah and Jeff are both experienced runners with marathons on their resumes!

Kyle is another Lawliner with marathon experience, completing the 2010 New York City Marathon, and sprinted out ahead of Dave and Frank F in no time!

After the race Lawline enjoyed the night life at The Gin Mill on Amsterdam Avenue, and re-hydrated ourselves after the long race! We are all looking forward to participating next year with even more participants!

Here are the race results!

LEARNING Core Value Spotlight: Michele Richman

Pick up one of Lawline’s marketing promos from a few years ago, and you will see “100+ CLE Courses” advertised.  Times have changed fast:  glance at the newest materials you will see “500+ CLE Courses.” With over 400 courses added in the past few years, how have we been able to keep on track of quality? Who is making sure these are worthy of reaching the Lawline catalog?

Michele Richman has viewed, quite literally, several hundred hours of CLE programs. Daily she views programs, beginning to end, and judges the programs on content and quality. Given that the average customer rating of our programs is near 90%, she assures only the highest quality programs make it to the Lawline catalog.

From Lawline.com’s early expert faculty, such as Herald Price Fahringer, Dr. Bart Basi, and Alan Schnurman, to the distinguished presenters who now fly from all ends of the country to be a part of the distinguished faculty, Michele’s accumulation of knowledge ranges across a spectrum of expertise few could ever claim.

Visit the Lawline.com or LearnLawline catalog, and you will have a peak into the knowledge Michele has accumulated through actively learning. She will likely be able to answer any of the questions on LearnLawline for you!

OPTIMISM Core Value Spotlight: Gamal Breedy

Gamal Breedy started at Lawline in January with little sales experience.  This was his first full time position and he was looking forward to learning about the sales process.  As with any new salesperson, Gamal experienced the usual “growing pains” of building a pipeline in new markets.  He saw a drop in his sales from March to April and he took it upon himself to improve his results for May.

When management asked what he thought of his opportunities in May, Gamal responded:

“I can’t say I will definitely hit my goal for this month, but I can guarantee I will have a positive attitude and work as hard as I can to hit it.”
What happened next? Gamal set a career high in sales for the month!  He had promised he would have an optimistic mindset for the entire month, and that attitude led him to do what was needed to hit his goal.

Gamal is proof that an optimistic attitude leads to confidence, sales, and success!

DRIVE Core Value Spotlight: Ken Perlstein

Pizza, rock climbing, drinks, and a workday spent outside  – a great break for everyone from the office… almost everyone.

In May, at the Lawline team building event, the staff headed out for a day of rock climbing in Brooklyn. Everyone was urged to put their pencils down and attend. Ken Perlstein, however, refused to give up even a single day.

Ken has been dubbed the “Babe Ruth” of CLE. Since the beginning, he has been an example of unmatched consistency. His numbers prove it each and every month. When the day of the team building event came, however, Ken wasn’t satisfied with his numbers. The opportunity and hit the next home run was too great to miss out on – so he stayed at the office.

Ken’s persistence and determination paid off once again. He made three sales that day. At the end of the month, Ken was once again atop the leaderboard. His determination, drive, and consistency are true inspirations and he proved through this example that his expectations of himself drive him to great achievements.

HELPING OTHERS Core Value Spotlight: Chris Deoleo

Anyone who has been on the line with a frustrated customer understands the difficulty in diffusing the situation. It can be easy for one to respond with irritation. However, when Chris Deoleo is on the line, he always has the mindset that he is going to make someone’s day.

Helping others is not just a core value for Chris Deleo, it is what he does on every phone call he receives from customers.  Every interaction Chris has with a customer is a positive one, regardless of the cause or concern the customer is calling about.

Every day and every call, Chris continues to spark up great conversations and the consistent praise he receives from customers is proof of his ongoing determination to help others. Check out the message below from a recent customer:

Chris
I didn’t check my e-mail soon enough.  I hope you can forward this on to your supervisor.  I want to say that I really appreciated your help, your kindness, and your willingness to go the second mile to help me.  You gave me outstanding service!

CREATIVITY Core Value Feature: Todd McBrearty

The beauty of web development is the ability to create something out of nothing. Literally, a talented web developer sees few limits on possibility, and this is what draws Todd McBrearty to the profession.

In addition to heading up the mobile CLE project earlier in the year, making Lawline into the only CLE provider with streaming video, he has consistently found solutions to common problems and improved the website’s user-friendliness. The CLE Tracker, for example, ranked as one of the top causes of confusion amongst Lawline Customers. Since its release. the CLE Tracker 2.0 has eliminated the product’s problematic issues and substantially reduced customer problems.

Over the past month, Todd has also taken initiative in creating the “Verification Code Lookup” (a Customer Service favorite!), integrating a new email service for registration and server emails, and implementing a new Live Chat widget at the base of the Lawline homepage, increasing the potential for contact and conversion from prospective customers.

It is exciting every day to see what new ideas Todd makes comes to life seemingly “out of nothing!”
